Minister Tiilikainen to informal meeting of EU transport and environment ministers in Graz and to meeting of Nordic environment ministers in Oslo

Minister of the Environment, Energy and Housing Kimmo Tiilikainen will attend the informal meeting of EU transport and environment ministers in Graz, Austria on 29–30 October and the meeting of Nordic environment ministers in Oslo on 30–31 October.

In their joint meeting in Graz the ministers of transport and the environment will talk about sustainable transport. Also on the agenda is whether a new programme for the environment sector should be drafted as a follow-up to the EU Environment Action Programme to 2020.

In Oslo the Nordic ministers of the environment will discuss the preparations for the Katowice Climate Conference, climate change adaptation, sustainable funding and sustainable urban development.

The Nordic Council Environment Prize will also be awarded in Oslo. The theme for this year is protecting marine life.
