Regional cooperation projects

The Municipal Climate Change Solutions Programme has funded 23 climate cooperation projects between regions and municipalities (as of the end of 2022). The projects have been carried out by municipalities and regional councils.

The purpose of regional and sub-regional cooperation has been to help municipalities understand what kind of climate action is most appropriate, effective and economically viable for them. The cooperation has enabled climate action to be taken in municipalities and regions whose own resources had not been sufficient for it. In addition, the projects have promoted regional and sub-regional cooperation in climate work.
