Special grants of the Ministry of the Environment

The Ministry of the Environment awards special grants by virtue of the Act on Discretionary Government Transfers. According to section 5 of the Act on Discretionary Government Transfers, special grants may be awarded as

  1. investment aid for the purpose of procuring a tangible or intangible asset
  2. project assistance for an experimental, introductory, research or development project or some other project with a defined purpose
  3. a grant, scholarship or assistance for the applicant’s personal use or project
  4. some other special aid comparable to those mentioned in paragraphs 1–3.

In addition to the Act on Discretionary Government Transfers, the terms and conditions concerning special grants of the Ministry of the Environment apply to applications for government grants.

On a case-by-case basis, the Ministry of the Environment also grants aid for economic activities in accordance with e.g. the Regulation on de minimis aid and General Block Exemption Regulations, subject to the terms and conditions specified in the call for applications.
