Prime Minister Alexander Stubb is the new chairman of the Finnish National Commission on Sustainable Development
The Government has set a new composition of the Finnish National Commission on Sustainable Development (FNCSD). Prime Minister Alexander Stubb is the new chairman of the Committee. Minister of the Environment Sanni Grahn-Laasonen is the Deputy Chairman.
The committee's main task is to encourage various actors to get involved in society’s commitment to sustainable development - "The Finland we want by 2050". Through this commitment, the government and the administration, in collaboration with companies, organizations and citizens, pledge to promote sustainable development in all their work and operations. The commitments are measured, evaluated and monitored systematically.
The Finnish National Commission on Sustainable Development is responsible for promoting national and international sustainable development goals in Finland. This influential commission monitors and promotes Society’s commitment. The Commission consists of representatives from parliament, government, ministries, municipalities, trade unions, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the industrial and commercial sectors, educational organisations, the scientific community and NGOs. It has been operating already for 20 years.
