Minister Tiilikainen to visit Mexico on a trade mission on 28 November–1 December
Minister of Agriculture and the Environment Kimmo Tiilikainen, accompanied by a business delegation, will visit Mexico on 28 November–1 December 2016. This is one of Team Finland export promotion visits.
The business delegation is composed of nine enterprises, including those in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and waste treatment.
At the moment more than 30 Finnish companies have subsidiaries in Mexico. The main Finnish export articles on the Mexican market are paper industry products and machines.
During the visit Minister Tiilikainen will meet the Mexican Minister of Energy Pedro Joaquín Coldwell, Deputy Minister of Economy Juan Carlos Baker, Mayor of Mexico City Miguel Ángel Mancera, and Secretary of Environment for the State of Mexico Raúl Vargas Herrera.
The topics on the agenda include scientific, technical and economic cooperation in the mining and energy sectors and water resources, environmental and building issues.
In Mexico City Minister Tiilikainen will also open a workshop organised by the Ministry of Energy of Mexico and VATT Institute for Economic Research.
From Mexico City Minister Tiilikainen will travel to Cancun to attend the high-level meeting of the Parties to the Convention of Biological Diversity (COP13) on 2–3 December. In Cancun Minister Tiilikainen will also meet Rafael Pacchiano Alamán, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico.
