Finland's National IPCC Working Group 2024-2028

The national IPCC working group is preparing Finland's participation in the activities of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The working group participates in compiling Finland's positions in the IPCC reports, informs about the results of the IPCC's work and promotes the participation of Finnish experts in the work.

Goals and results
The tasks of the IPCC working group are
• act as the IPCC's national network
• participate in compiling Finland's positions and views in the IPCC reports
• informs about the results of IPCC's work
• promote the participation of Finnish experts in the work of the IPCC
The members' task is also to act as a contact person for the ministries, expert and research institutes they represent.

The Ministry of the Environment appoints a national IPCC working group to prepare Finland's participation in the activities of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
The tasks of the IPCC working group are
• act as the IPCC's national network
• participate in compiling Finland's positions and views in the IPCC reports
• informs about the results of IPCC's work
• promote the participation of Finnish experts in the work of the IPCC
The members' task is also to act as a contact person for the ministries, expert and research institutes they represent.
If necessary, the working group can establish a working committee from among itself to prepare all the matters that the working group assigns to it. If necessary, the committee can also make initiatives for the working group on matters to be prepared.
The working group can also invite experts who are central to the work of the IPCC.
